Default “New” 2004, Trunk button inop

Hello all,
New member here. Just picked up a 2004 in really nice shape. Only issue so far, the physical trunk button stopped working. Switch inside is released and the trunk button on the inside, along with the gas door works. Any insight would be appreciated. The button itself is in really good condition, kinda doubt that’s the problem.

I'm assuming you have the Smart Access system, since I see the light on your dash behind the turn signal stock. Is Smart Access turned on? I'm pretty sure the trunk buttom only works if you have Smart Access turned on, since it needs to sense the key in it's proximity. Might be wrong tho. Super clean car, btw. Pretty sure I have the same exact spec.

Thanks for the response, you are correct, the smart key system was off, once I turned it on the button worked. Such the complex car ha ha, it is in amazing condition. The paint is so good I’m sure it’s been garaged its whole life. Definitely the nicest car I’ve ever driven.

Welcome, love my 2004 and yours may be even nicer. Glad you figured it out - I've found it takes some time to get to know these, but it's well worth it.

You are correct, I’m still getting to know the car. 13k for this engineering marvel, are you kidding me? With the exception of something esoteric, like a 911, I honestly can’t think of a new car I’d rather have. If I find a flint mica with black leather, I just might buy it as well. Not a huge fan of the moonlight pearl, but it’s growing on me.

If you don't mind me asking....What's the mileage on your beauty?
