New windshield now rain sensor doesnt work....
I called Lexus when my windshield cracked and found their preferred ws provider. Got it installed and the auto wiper doesnt function. I am not worried as I know they will make it right. When I turn it to auto it wipes twice then stays on. My understanding is that when it is functioning and ou turn it to auto it wipes once then goes to rain sensing.
My question is before I call and have them come back out, is there a reset that I can try or that needs to be done? If you know please let me know.
Thanks
G

I had the same problem. In my case, it was due to the type of winshield glass they used was not compatible. Installer had used FYAO glass and the installer it might be due to the Rain sensor being defective. I had the Lexus dealer check it and they said the current Rain Sensor was good. We convinced the installer to use OEM glass and the rain sensing is working now. I have heard that Pilkington glass works but you may want to verify this,
Had my windshield replaced by Geico in Florida. They outsourced to Safelite who used Fuyao glass, which did not work with the rain sensor.
The rain sensor is calibrated for a specific material refraction index (among other properties, likely) in order to properly sense rain.
Pilkington has proven to work for multiple users across the forum. The installer must use new adhesive and ensure clean mating surface.

Not all glass companies will make our windshields. Will Pilkington make an LS430 windshield? Lowest I can find on OEM is $1000 with about $300 in shipping. Sadly, Bell in AZ won't ship windshields period.
These cars are getting too old for insurance to even consider approving OEM.
