Default Windshield wiper Auto mode HELP

Hi, I've got an 07 RX-350 and had the windshield replaced by a local mechanic. The job seems good however, when I place the wipers on AUTO, they continuously wipe the windshield weather there is rain or not. All the other modes work well such as OFF and faster modes but in AUTO, they run continuously.
I called the installer and he claims that the windshield has nothing to do with the operation of the rain sensor or wipers.
Is there a way to reset the wipers/rain sensor?. Is there a wiring harness that the installer may have forgotten to plug in?.
I am a novice but am adventurous enough to try anything. Appreciate your help.

It appears that the windshield that was installed in your car did not have the rain sensor. There is a connection for a rain sensor on the windshield that has the rain sensing feature. I had my SC430's windshield replaced and that's how I found out.

For what its worth. I have a 04 Lexus LS430 UL. And I had a aftermarket windshield in it when I bought it. And guess what, my auto rain sensor didn't work properly either. It acted as intermittent wipers.
I bought a new rain senor, new rain sensor pads to no avail. There is no reset.
Make sure you got the rain sensor pad though.
I think this would be the same on the RX.

After ignoring the others telling me its my windshield, I caved and got a OEM Lexus windshield installed and viola, it works properly now. Go figure.

I'm trolling over because I'm thinking of getting the wife a 04-09 RX.

You need Toyota part number 89941-48020 which is the rain sensor. It is glued onto the windshield just above the rearview mirror. Also, the windshield needs to be rain sensor ready. Cheapest place for this part is eBay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/LEXUS-RX330...5.c10#viTabs_0

Just for idle information. I only after purchase found that my NX200 had windshield replaced with a/m one. Auto mode works fine. Not sure what was done to the sensor though. It was rather unpleasant surprise, as windshield has a "lens" in it in the center lower section, about 2 inch wide. Not obstructing anything, just annoying to know. I went to Lexus dealer and brought this up, guy pointed out that it's not Lexus windshield. Sucks. But wipers do work fine.

This is not the sensor for a 2007, which is what the op has.

2007 uses either 89941-4803 rain sensor Japan built or 89941-48052 rain sensor Canada built.

Reviving this thread due to an auto wiper issue...

My auto wipers seem really inconsistent; barely any rain on the windshield = sometimes going way too fast, other times, tons of rain on the windshield = not wiping very much at all.

Is my sensor failing? I love auto wipers...I'd gladly replace the sensor if it's that easy of a fix.

When I bought the car, the sensor was loose, so I lined the sides of the metal clip with 2 sided tape (cleaned all the glass where it sits first of course), cleaned the sensor, put it back in place...everything seems like it should be working just fine unless there's a sensor issue.

Any experiences out there with this?

Just guessing, but could it be that the double sided tape is loosening up and holding the sensor too far away from the glass?

I suppose that's possible? What are you supposed to use?

The tape I used isn't overly thick; I figured it should have done the job alright.

I don't know how the sensor is held on to begin with, so I can't answer that. When my rear view mirror fell off, there was a piece of something like double sided scotch tape.on the windshield. Pretty thin stuff. Maybe that type of stuff was used on the rain sensor?
