Need Help 2004 Lexus LS430 code p057
Recently new owner of a 2004 LS430.
love the car and trying to slowly bring it back to its full potential. One issue I ran into just recently is the engine light came on as well as my “check VSC” and “trac control off” lights. I noticed a slight rumble when idling with the car in drive as well as a slight rumble when accelerating at around 2k rpm’s. Originally thought it was a bad gas cap as I saw many people talking about having the same symptoms. Took it in for a code read before I started buying things and the only one that came up on the scanner was p057. That matches for ignition coil “G” or #7. As I understand it that’s the furthest to the rear of the car on the drivers side. Purchased a new one and replaced it although the old one didn’t look too bad to me. Tightened everything up and all the lights are still on. Drove around a little and I think I have noticed less rumbling at idle and 2k rpm acceleration. I should also mention that I noticed the wiring harness looked slightly chewed on probably by a mouse but no wires were fully opened up I don’t think. Will the car take time to settle into the new ignition coil and will gradually get better along with the lights turning off or is this something that should have immediately been better as soon as I replaced the coil and the real problem lies elsewhere. Sorry for the long post this is my first time asking for help on here and thank you to anyone who gives their two cents. (Edit: I rechecked the wires on the connection from the coil to the rest of the harness and it does seem like a very skinny red wire is broken or half broken. Could this possibly be the problem my knowledge is limited when it comes to the mechanicals of the car and even more limited with electronic hardware)

Cool, that is indeed #7 coil-cap. If you swap one of the other coil-caps with #7 does the code change to the new location? (eg. p0355 if you swap #5 with #7)
If so, then the problem is indeed the coil-cap which will need replacing with a new one of a quality brand.
If it remains p0357 after the swap and a code reset, then you have a fault with the #7 connector or wiring.
