If you’ve already decided on the HR3 wheels then I suggest you get them, mount them on the car after it’s been lowered and metal work has been completed, then measure to see what size spacers you’ll need since you’ll need spacers with those wheels for a flush look no matter what.
Some say the quarter fenders on these can be rolled, some say they can’t (without wrinkling the metal) due to the dual layer construction.
Sorry there’s no simple answer I can give, it depends on how low you’re going, how much metal work will be done, and what you consider flush (it’s a subjective topic that can be argued).
Theres a local guy that has those on his dropped LS430 (@strictly_vip on IG) and his are tucked, but his car is pretty low.
So here’s a few things…
1:Unless your wheels are high disc clearance in the front, you most likely will not clear the brake caliper..
2: You can’t roll the fenders. You have to shave the inner lip the. Use a fuller to pull them. If you attempt to roll them without doing this, you will get buckle spots in your fenders and quarters.
3: Flush fitment depends on wheel width and offset and backspacing. I had a set of Work Kiwami reps (Gross) on my ‘04 when I first got it from the previous owner. They were 19x9.5 +22 Offset squared with a high disc clearance. They sat pretty flush (Needed a cheapo spacer you get from AutoZone in the rear to be flush). The wheels I’m running now are SSR Professor VF1 with a staggered width. 19x9.5 +12 offset High Disc and 19x10.5 +18 Super Low Disc. These fit flush with no spacers. I will include pics
I was planning to put on my summer wheels today but I failed, apparently with a 15mm spacers on the front the factory lugs still stick out about 5mm and the Work Wheels I got doesn't have the cut out, indentations for that. So I wasn't ablet to put them on, no way will 19x8.5 +50 fit the calipers without spacers. I measured and it looks like I will need 20mm spacers to clear the factory lug bolts. Any idea with 20mm with 19x8.5 +50 wheels fit? It only works out to be actual offset of +30 but then it looked pretty poked when I had the wheels up in the air as I couldn't put weight on the wheel due to the bolts not clearing. Car is still at factory height.
I'm still messing with this but this has so far turned out to be a bigger chore than I expected. So with my 19x8.5 +50 and 19x9.5 +45 wheels.
After the 15mm spacers not working as the wheels didn't have cut outs for the factory lugs, I bought a set of 20mm spacers, bolts can be tightened but still didn't clear the factory bolts by like 3mm? I drove down the street and the front wheels wobbled already. So failing once again, I put the stock front back on with the 20mm spacers as at least the stock wheels have cut outs what accommodated the bolts. This is a pretty good look but I'm still unable to get the fronts installed, waiting for another set of 25mm spacers to come in try to fit those, for some reason my other set of spacers couldn't fit the bolt holes of the front wheels but rears fit.
I put a 25mm spacer on the rears with 19x9.5 +45 wheels, rubs a bit on big bumps on stock height. Not sure if the 20mm spacers will fit as I don't think the rears wheels have cut outs for the protruding bolts either. But I'll tinker with this later, at least the wheels fit.
Yea just too poor to buy proper wheels. Wheels and tires these days are so expensive. I had way more aggressive wheels on my sc and old GS and never had as much issue as trying to get these to fit.
