Default Lower steering shaft

Hello guys!
I have taken off the lower steering shaft because I am changing the exhaust manifold from underneath the car.
It was a big job, I will post a step-by-step on how you do it.
The joint on the steering shaft hits the cover, is this normal? See the video
I am not going to change the steering shaft, it seems to be inn okay condition.

Thanks in advance!
