Weird temperature issue after speed hump failure
So the car is sitting pretty low on coilovers at the moment, and about 3 weeks ago I managed to bottom out on some horrible speed hump, the sound was pretty gnarly. I kept driving to my destination, pulled into a parking spot and sat for a bit listening to the radio, then I noticed the temperature gauge rising slowly, it just kept rising and rising.. I shut the car off before it reached the second last line. I started it again and just drove off home, as I was freaked out, and that's when I noticed the temperature actually dropped to normal running temperature (slightly above the line) as I was driving.
From then on, I've noticed the temperature will rise occasionally if the car is in idle, when those loud fans start to kick on (radiator fans?), example would be in the drive-thru of a fast-food restaurant. I've noticed it rise more so if the car is parked and idling on a incline, like the parking spot at my gym facility.
I don't really notice any funky smells, and I'm also not throwing any lights on the dashboard. Have I managed to mangle a sensor by any chance? Did the radiator fan motors fail? Both fans seem to be running at idle. It does seem a bit louder than usual, though. I have purchased a OEM thermostat and radiator cap, in-case.
I need to take it in eventually for service (I'm not confident troubleshooting this by myself), but it's been hard with the shift-work and constant work days. I ask on here to see if anyone has actually experienced similar, or know exactly what's going on, so I can mention it to my mechanic. Hoping it's not going to run me big money to fix.
