Intake Lines?

Default Intake Lines?

Hey guys so recently I was cleaning my throttle body and while pulling the hoses off, one of them ripped and one of them broke off, I have pics and i would like to know what they do, I daily this car and would like to fix it soon

i’m wondering what the two smaller lines do, and. could i drive the car with out it?

They are both vacuum lines. The line to the left of your thumb would connect to the Power Steering Air control valve.(17342B). I believe it helps soften steering at low speeds. I am unsure where the second line to the right connects to however, since these plastic connections and lines break over time, I would highly recommend replacing all those lines connecting to the intake box and intake manifold. As well as the big hose that connects to the intake box. With any small vacuum leak, your engine will not run correctly and you might notice bigger problems later on.


I fixed it by drilling a small hole into the intake box and connecting plastic vacuum connectors and sealing with epoxy. However, I would recommend using the brass fittings and couplers as they are more sturdy and last longer.
