Question Changing timing belt

I am going to change my 1996 LS400 timing belt. Beside all the belts and water pump, what else do I need to get?

Wow, that's a great tutorial Lextreme. It looks very tricky. I'm glad my belt was recently changed .

Good luck with your belt change wheel.

2 tips on timing belt change and Lex may have them in his tutorial but I didn't read it since my belt is new but be careful to snap the Oxygen Sensors back into place or they can rub up against your serp belt and make sure the you get the rubber gasket all the way around correctly when putting the cam covers back on or it can get sucked down into the timing belt and that will become a nightmare.

Interesting reading from all posts, but I must admit that I am less likely to attempt this work after reviewing the tutorial provided by Lextreme (VMF site). Maybe I am missing something, but a rookie (like myself) should not attempt this. As much as I don't want to spend $1,000 to $1,600 for the complete 90,000 mile work, which includes timing belt, I think I would be better off in the end to spend the money. Looks like parts for complete job (including water pump and tune-up) run around $650.

Sure wish I had the knowledge, however. Don't have the guts on this one right now. Am I wrong?
