Igniter issue?
Hello my fellow Lexheads and happy belated Father's Day to all of the Lexhead Dads. OK here's the deal, has anyone ever had a problem with one of the Igniters going out? I'm getting PO 300 302 304 306 308 cel codes, all on Bank 2. I'm also getting the blinking VSC off light as well. With the issue confined to bank 2, rough idling and etc., I'm guessing it's the bank 2 igniter, does that make sense? However, I have my doubts because even though the bank 2 igniter feeds into the right side distributor, it would make sense that I would get misfiring in cylinders on both sides of the eng because the plug wires from both banks feed into the right side distributor. What's your take? Thanks in advance.
Cheers.
Cheers.
OK maybe it's EGR related because a lot of thick white smoke was not only coming out of the tailpipes but was also coming out of the engine bay. So what causes the EGR to malfunction? The shop manual also mentions that EGR problems could also throw the codes. Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
In case of an EGR issue, both banks should be affected. Codes are only related to the bank 2. I'd rather think it's related to the cam timing. I will be checking the cam sensor's signal CH1/CH2 comparing with the crank signal CH3.
