Default 1999 LS400 starter replacement question

tried to start my 99 LS400 and it would try and crank but it would make this unhealthy buzzing noise, i tried a couple hours later and i was completely out of power so i was sure it was my battery. i charged the battery and started it with it still connected and it started but the next day (today) it’s drained again.

going to try a couple small things before i replace my starter because i’m almost certain it’s causing a parasitic drain on my battery. I can only find 1995 starters or older i can’t find any 1999 starters.

will i be able to put a 95 starter in my 99? or if anybody has any word on any other issues that can be causing this and it’s not my starter would also help. car didn’t die while running so i doubt it’s my alternator.

thanks

Have you had the alternator tested? Almost all parts stores will do it for you at no charge.
The alternator is way easier to replace than the starter and has a shorter service life for that reason.

If it starts with a jump there's a good chance it's just the alternator.
The DENSO 2100176 is somewhat of a reliable favorite here on the forum. Steer clear of the Autozone Duralast, big box part stores...

When my starter was dying, I had a hard time starting it for the first time in the morning, especially in cold weather. Having all accessories, headlights and music off helped.
