Default 1993 LS400 - how do I remove the ENTIRE center console?

What the title says - original owner had an aftermarket CD changer professionally installed and they jammed the controller waaaaaayyy down inside the dash in front of the center console. Sort of under the radio bracket, but so far down I need a borescope to even see the thing. I can't easily remove the carpeting around the driver's side of the trans tunnel so I figure this is the best way to go about removing the thing. It's broken, is causing a parasitic draw, and might be to blame for some really weird issues I've had with engine management (and before you ask, yes the ECU is repaired, and yes I've checked the trunk wiring, and I'm sure it's not the ECU because all three ECUs I've tested have these exact same problems).

If anyone has a better way to do this, please let me know.
