Thumbs up 2004 LS430 Test Drive on Saturday 10/6

Hey All in the LS forum!

I own a 2002 SC and am definitely considering replacing my 2000 Deville DTS with an LS when the time comes. OK, don't laugh, I know a DTS doesn't compare with the quality of a Lexus, but I love the big American freeway cruiser look, I just don't like all the trips to the dealer for repairs.

I thought I'd go by the dealership to see if they had any 04 LS's, I thought they probably wounldn't. I pulled up to the dealership and saw my salesman sitting in an 04, learning about it's new gagetry. Of course he already know's I'm considering the move up to an LS, so he said why don't you take it for a drive. I think the one I test drove had a sticker price of 61K. Very nice, and couldn't believe all the new bells and whistles. It had one of those new key systems, so the key wasn't even in the ignition for the test drive. The face vents in the middle of the dash we're oscillating. Putting the car in reverse, I could see the camera view behind the vehicle, a pretty good fisheye! A very nice ride for sure!

When we got back to the dealership, he took me out back to look at an LS with the Ultra Luxury package. If that isn't a baby limo I don't know what is! If you took coworkers to lunch in that they'd never get out of the back seat.

I just had to post to this forum after getting a look at the new '04. I think Lexus is headed in the right direction with looks, I just hope the total redesign for '05 will be all the more exciting. I've heard that's the only category that Lexus falls behind Mercedes on in consumer surveys. I think I still favor the looks of an older LS over the new ones, I hope the '05's will change my mind!

Keep enjoying your LS's.

I hope to be joining you in several years!

Hello Robert!
I just drove an 2004 LS430 today fully loaded. As soon as I brought it back to the dealership, they informed me a Moonlight Pearl w/Ash Leather car was going to be delivered in 2 weeks. I couldn't write the check for $500 fast enough for them to reserve it.

Hope you decide on the new LS...I'm going to be loosing sleep waiting for mine to get here...Goodluck!
