Default 96 Ls400 P0500 HELP!!!!

Recently i got into an accident hitting a puddle leading me into a ditch. I get check engine light for “speed sensor circuit’a’ “ i have done everything possible. i’ve replaced ECU, replaced both speed sensors. Replaced speedometer. i’ve also replaced the connector for the speed sensors. the only thing i haven’t been able to do is check the wave forms since i don’t have the tools to do so. this is my only car please help!!! Any ideas of what else to do? the car runs and can drive just not very far or fast. the speedometer bounces around. on my live data scanner the computer speed does not match actual speed. sometimes it doesn’t shift at all or slams when it downshifts. I can clear the check engine light, as soon as i put the car into drive it comes back

Likely the wiring harness going to the speed sensor got buggered up. Peel back the insulation/tape back past the connector into the harness as much as you can. Could do a continuity test from the connector all the way to the ECU.

Which wheel is this? Maybe the tone ring on either the hub or the axle is damaged. You can get a test meter that gives a basic oscilloscope readout for about $100. It's no good for high frequencies but for you will work fine.

i agree with inspecting the wheel/hub area as that was more likely to take a hit when you hit the ditch.
make sure all is well there, looking for bent suspension or torn bushings then look for any compromised wiring to the ABS sensors, etc.
