i have a 1990 lexus ls 400 and i can't find mounting kits anywhere. Where do you find installation kits (w/o going into a audio store, because i don't have money to throw around) . Are there any websites that offer kits? I have premium audio, not nakaguchi (or whatever you call it).
I would check with the boys in the electronics/audio/video
section of this forum. They must have an idea for you.
Good luck in your search and post pics when your done!
The mounting plate from sfxaudio is solid metal with smooth edges and high quality paint, custom fit to the first generation LS400. Earl and I both have a 91 LS400, your 90 LS400 has the same opening. They also have the plugs to fit the factory harness to an aftermarket stereo. Very well made products, good service overall.
Let me know if you have any more questions, such as how to remove the headunit. It is not nearly as bad as I feared it would be.
Man, it took me a long time to find that place (sfxaudio), only a handful of places have kits for a LS400. The kit from sfxaudio actually comes with two face plates. One for the Nak system and one for the Pioneer. The wiring harnesses works perfect too.
