Default Need some help with tire fitment

Cross posted in the tire forums didn't know which one would be better.
Hello I just bought a set of ame shallen lx's 18x8 +38 offset. They are going on a 96 ls400 (once I finish the build and get coilovers) what tire size would yall recommend I thought maybe a 235/50 or 235/45. They car probably won't be slammed due to the roads around my area. Thanks I still need to start a build thread I've been lazy.

Height would be 60 for 16in 55 for 17in and 50 for 18 in

Width most likely 235 max

245/45-18 will give you the best speedometer accuracy and was optional on the 2004-2006 LS430.

Three tire sizes were used on the LS430:

225/60-16 - standard on the 2001-2002 LS430 and on the 1993-2000 LS400
225/55-17 - optional on the 2001-2002 LS430 and standard on the 2003-2006 LS430
245/45-18 - optional on the 2004-2006 LS430

245\45\18 +45mm is a direct bolt-on replacement. No spacers needed, speedo is completely accurate, no rubbing issues at all from the slightly wider tread.

That tire size is perfect for those rims (18x8), but I don't know how spacing will be and thus clearance over the brake calipers.

Ok thanks with the +38 offset would I have to run spacers? The wheels aren't staggered they will be 18x8 +38 all the way around.

offset is only part of the equation for caliper clearance. from the looks of it the wheels should clear based on the spoke design.
it's really the pad or disk that matters.

here is how work wheels does their disk type

this is how SSR does theirs

Nice looking wheels! +38mm is a pretty conservative fitment so there should not be any issues. As Jim mentions the 245/45-18 is a direct fitment replacement. Going a bit bigger or smaller with will have minimal speedometer issues, 235/45-18, 245/40-18, 255/45-18, 255/40-18.
