Ls400 wheel setup (HELP)
Hi, so I plan on getting some aodhan ds02's. This will be my first time purchasing wheels and i've compared what I want to some people on the gallery, the size and fitment seems that it will fit but i'm still unsure and need help making sure i'm not about to purchase a expensive set up and then have to return it a week later. Here's the link on what I plan on purchasing. Any help is highly appreciated. https://www.fitmentindustries.com/bu...k%2BSuspension I have a 1997 ls400 btw
Nice wheels! My main concerns personally would be is the offset correct because if its not it could put an extra load on the wheel bearings as well as fitting correctly inside the well. Also will they clear the brake calipers / steering components etc properly.
It's good you research first, it's a hefty investment.

I'm 99% sure that these will work with the brake calipers and steering components without a problem, as long as you have lug nuts with the correct seat style.
However I'll tell you right now that you're going to have a hard time enjoying these wheels (and mounted tire) under your fenders if the fenders aren't modified and/or some negative camber added, especially if the ride height is lowered.
I run 18x9 +22; 18x10 +27 on my LS400, (lowered a few inches to be fair) and had to do a bit of fender liner work and rolled the fender lips in completely.
With a statement like that you should provide some alternative options. For example, I paid $1,200 for my used wheels which are authentic AVS Model 5's, but up close it is obvious that they have some miles on them. However, brand new they were $3,000+... Personally I'd rather spend roughly the same amount of money on used authentic Japanese wheels instead of brand new replicas, but that's just a matter of personal preference.
I don't have any experience with Aodhan. Even though they aren't authentic "JDM" wheels, for the specs and appearance, brand new, $1,300 seems to be a competitive value.

19" Amistad Zelos 19x8 (fronts), 19x8.5 (rears)
Paid about $785 for them, including shipping from Croooober..com. As for tires, 2 different size Achilles tires. Yep...JDM goodness for under $1300.
That was my thinking as well. No point in paying $800 for a set of cast replicas when you can get a good set of JDM wheels. I looked around ebay and FB and all I found were trash used wheels. Curb rash, cracks, bent lips, etc...and the seller still wants an arm and a leg for them.

I’ve heard croooober is a scam website that sells fake wheels and reps

haha...I guess my wheels are fake then. Not sure how I could have got scammed when these wheels are in my garage. Don't believe everything you hear on the interweb. BTW, they don't make fake Amistad wheels....

As for wheel options, there are plenty out there. New wheels will be outrageously expensive. Just keep looking and you will find something within your price range. I would stay away from buying a set of used damaged JDM wheels (in the states) if you can. The repair cost will be just as much as what you paid for them.
