Well I made the plunge and bought an '03 Black LS 430. Very happy with it so far. I wish I could have justified getting the ML/Nav and maybe even the UL package but went with what I thought was financially responsible (still a stretch).

This is not my first Lexus. I had a '98 GS 300. I was looking at old 2nd gen Legends (still beautiful to me) and new Infiniti G35s but decided I needed to get a car I would keep and not trade in 3 - 4 years as I have done in the past. In doing so, I decided I needed to stay away from the sportier models and go conservative, lasting luxury so I narrowed it down to BMW 5 or 7 series, Lexus LS 430, or Mercedes S class. Older gen models of the afore mentioned still look nice to me today. However, I planned on buying current body styles and not older gen with these models. It boiled down to value and reliability and only Lexus had those two criteria down to a science.

Anyway, small intro from me and I will help where I can. Also I am surprised there is not a Warranty section of this forum. I guess most people assume if you can afford a Lexus flag ship, warranty price is no problem or if you bought used, then you would be out of time/mileage limits. I will request one and hopefully do some hunting to get us some deals (assuming you are interested and are within the mileage and time limits). I have already found some pretty good deals at $90 above cost for Lexus extended warranties. With the cost of repairing technologically sophisticated vehicles today, I am sure I will be buying an extended warranty. I found some good deals for my Odyssey and bought one.

Oh and no pics as of yet but maybe I will take some this week-end after a wash.

I am planning on buying a 2003 or 2004 LS430 next month and I am also interested in the extended warantee. I was wondering what kind of prices you are getting and what coverage ( years, mileage, deductible). I have shopped around for these on my previous cars and found the prices vary greatly. I am looking for a 6 yr/60,000 or 7 yr/70,000 zero deductible factory LEXUS policy.

I know the powertrain is covered by a 6 yr warantee, but I would like the rest of the car covered as well.

Thanks for any info.

I have all the info at work so I can't give you prices. I have a dealer agreeing to $90 above their cost for Club Lexus members. I will be doing more shopping and when I compile at least 3 good deals, I'll post it. I have PM'd the admin asking for a warranty forum and hope he implements it. We'll see.
