Transmission Dipstick - Is Fluid Anywhere In The HOT Section Okay??
1998 LS400
I just did a drain and refill of my transmission fluid, the transmission was slightly overfilled before but still performed fine, now the fluid shows that it's in the middle of the hot section.
Should I try to get the fluid to the top of the HOT section or is it fine where it is? I couldn't find any definitive answers online about this.

don't worry you're golden... notice how the hot section (and cold for that matter) has the two bars at either end, those indicate the acceptable filled range
and i trust that you used toyota type iv fluid?

Here's the important question - when you measured it, was the transmission HOT (warmed up from driving) or COLD (car has been off for a while)?
If that photo was taken after a few miles of driving and shifting with the transmission, then you're good. I'm assuming that you captured it when the transmission was hot.
Make sure to shift into each gear after changing the fluid, so it circulates in the transmission (P, R, N, D, 2, L).
