Default 98 Ls400 Power Steering Control Valve

I have a 98 Ls400 and for a while its been leaking power steering fluid. I can smell it getting burned off sometimes aswell. My alternator hasnt had any issues so i dont think its dripping on to it. My question is does the 98 model of a Power Steering control valve? I know by reading the forums that thats usually the bad part but i am yet to read about it on the 98+ models, so i want to confirm its actually there before i buy it. Thanks for the help.

yes, they have one. make sure it's tight or it'll **** ATF everywhere

you can delete it, or opt for the metal version (the plastic ones aren't as durable, ask me how i know.)

To delete you use a basic M14-1.50 oil plug. I used this one from NAPA.

Plug them on the plenum and intake. I have seen a few people route a hose from the plenum to the intake to increase the RPM slightly, but it's unnecessary, and there are better ways to adjust idle RPM if that's one's goal.

The air box over the RH valve cover after the air sensor. This is from my 1994. The plenum, or air box, is circled. The yellow blob on the left (RH) is a screw I plugged the broken stem with. The yellow on the right is a short bit of the vacuum hose with a bolt stuck in it. And you've deleted your power steering air control valve.

Your 99 will look like this...
Follow the vacuum lines and plug where they terminate.
