Check also the third brake light assembly.(Two T-5 bulbs)

Probably a good idea to replace all brake and tail lamp incandescent bulbs.

Check Country of origin (presumably manufacture) on package

Japanese bulbs are best quality.

Before you waste money on buying new bulbs. I can clearly see the tail light you have circled is not as bright as the right one, this happens due to corroded ground wire. Check the ground wire for that tail light and make sure it's grounded properly. I went through this problem before and have wasted money on bulb but in fact it was a bad ground wire that was triggering lamp failure light.

Replaced my left rear tail lamp wiring harness. New OEM: $40

While everything apart replaced 20 year old bulbs.

Bulbs work or not.

Here the police look for probable cause to stop.

Burnt out or dim tail lamp bulbs are a favorite.
