Can anyone tell me what the sensor on the passenger side is for? I know the one on the drivers side is for the automatic headlight turning on when it gets dark but is this sensor the one for making the odometer lights brighter? Because mine does not get bright anymore, its hard to see the temperature and time at day time as well. The part number I found online is below, dont see much about it anywhere, on eBay they call it day time running light sensor but our cars dont have DRL! And if it is indeed for making the instrument cluster brighter in the day time, how would I go about removing this sensor? Part# 077450-0911
Yes, the sensor for cluster and center console lighting. I don't know how to remove though dropping the glove box, CD player and looking up there to see if it is accessible.
(Not sure which it is) The potentiometer or rheostat that adjusts the brightness may be worth checking first before diving deep into the dash.

Thanks for your reply. Well randomly one day the "full brightness" went away. I have the brightness set to full but its not the full it should be. Like during the day its supposed to automatically be at a full brightness, when you turn your headlights on it would automatically go into a lower setting. But I feel im locked into that lower setting. I'm not sure when it happened. I had my ecu rebuilt and noticed it after that, but doubt that is the cause. I can find the sensor cheap at junk yards just thought it would be worth the effort?
