New -400 owner... question about ignition key
Greetings All,
I recently purchased a real gem of a car. It’s a 2000 LS-400, with 64,000 miles on it. The the vehicle came with three keys. One key works in the ignition and door/trunk locks, but no remote trunk release mechanism. One key works in the ignition and all other locks and has a remote trunk opener. The third key only opens the doors, and comes in a plastic insert to carry in your wallet.
My question....
Where can I find a second key that has the remote trunk opener?
Thanks,

Lexus will do it for about $130. Important to know, the keys are a major security device. The transponder inside it, permits starting the vehicle. If you crack or break the key fob off (which is was designed to break off in an accident rather than bury in your knee) then the car will not start. The key that has no remote door/trunk fob is the original valet key. It will not unlock the glove box nor the trunk. So, back in the day, your cash and gun could stay in the car when you valet it.

Yeah that is the valet key to my understanding. I think there is a key lock under the gas latch and trunk latch in the dash that you can lock with a fobbed key but not with the valet key, or something like that.
