I used Toyota T4 fluid. Did 3 drain and refills and replaced the transmission strainer (filter) on the third time and dropped the pan.

The Lexus dealer only charged me $4 a quart for it so it was cheaper than the walmart jugs of Valvoline Dex3 ATF. You can use that stuff for Powersteering fluid though, just wouldn't recommend it for the tranny.

Prestone DOT 3 brake fluid is fine and I use Napa Full Synthetic, same as Valvoline Full Synthetic, they make it for NAPA. I buy in bulk when they have a sale for 3.49 a quart from time to time.

Did we ever see what year car it is? Only use what the recommended transmission fluid is in the manual. Huge mistake using other stuff.
