Default Need help -camshaft sensor error and cat delete?

Hey guys so I just bought a 97 Lexus LS400 car was running good for a good while out of nowhere I just lost a lot of power and would not idle properly the only code that comes up is that camshaft position sensor bank 1 which I already ordered and I am currently waiting to receive but I had a question would the car not having catalytic converters also be a problem? Because the car does not have catalytic converters or O2 sensors but that does not come up when I search for codes

If I'm not mistaken, and hopefully someone enlightens us both, I don't think the O2 sensors would make you lose significant power.

Do you have a straight pipe?

A bad camshaft position sensor can cause a misfire which would cause loss of power and possibly throttle response. Let us know what happens when you change it.

May be a variety of issues. How long has the car not had O2 sensors? Bank one contributes to the air fuel mix and allowing the ECU to determine fuel trims.

The O2 sensors are a rather important item in the car and help determine air and fuel. There is no real benefit to removing the cats and straight piping without and x pipe will do the engine performance no favors.
