Default 1989 Celsior LS400 correct stock rim orientation

Hello Guys. I have a strange and possibly dumb question.
My Celsior has stock rims on it, and its been pointed out to me that they are directional. Sure enough, they have a slight design change from left to right, and they are marked L and R.
My question is, whats left and whats right from the cars point of view? I have always thought that its the same as your point of view if your sitting in the car. Ie, sitting in the drivers seat my RHS is also the cars RHS. But thats the side where the L marked rims are. ??? Has someone put them on the wrong side, or have I got left and right mixed up (from the cars point of view anyway)?

Thanks for reading a stupid question. I would not normally question myself on this subject, but as all 4 wheels appear to be on the wrong side, I thought I'd double check first.

It's not a stupid question. People think in different ways. Left and right goes by sitting in the car.
This is 1 reason I hate those rims. A lot of people buying the cars with them now don't even realize they"re directional b/c they look almost the same. If you want to be 100% sure just look at a stock photo

Thanks. I was sure i was correct, but the fact that both sets were on the opposite side to what I was expecting made me question myself.
I will switch them over probably next weekend (will give me a chance to check out the brakes as well, something I havn't done yet).
I tried looking at some stock photos, but was unable to find one with enough detail. Most that show lots of rim detail are from owners who are proud of their new '3rd Party' rims.
It seems not many people show off their stock rims.
Anyway, thanks again.

OK. Confirmed. They are definitely on the wrong sides.
Cant see that it will make much difference, its winter here and I dont exactly do any racing or heavy braking, but its wrong, so it will be changed.
Thanks again.

Yeah, it was news to me too. I believe its only on the types of rims you see in this thread.
They actually have a L and R embossed on the rim.
Dont trust that the type place you used has got it right. Mine didnt know they were directional until I pointed it out (soon after posting my last thread here).
All my rims where on the wrong sides when I purchased the car.

Strange - I bet there's a story behind that!!! Dont like your chances of finding someone with 4 X RHS Rims.
Possibly a curb swipe by a Previous Owner who also didnt know about the directional rims? How does your car track down a straight level road?

I couldn't begin to guess. It's what came on this 95 without motor or transmission I got because it was listed incorrectly. Ah well. Hopefully my part out goes well and I recup the money.

Your 1995 has some dealer option unidirectional wheels that are different from the Gen 1 stock 15" wheels. I've only ever seen them on one other car.
