Default Strut bar cushion

I'm looking for part no. 48674-50051 (strut bar cushion) for my 1995 Lexus LS 400. Everywhere I check they say that this part no. has been replaced by part no. 48660-40021 (strut bar assembly) at a significantly higher price of ~$100 per strut bar assembly (need 2).

Any ideas?

Here's a link to the bushing- https://www.lexussouthatlantaparts.c...867450051.html
It sounds like Lexus stopped selling the bushing by itself forcing the user to purchase the entire strurt bar with bushing included so I can't promise availability.

Thank you. I appreciate your response!

I found the bushing at both Lexus Parts Now and Lexus South Atlanta when I searched their respective websites and ordered two of them from each vendor at different times. Both sent me an email the next day informing me that the part was replaced by the entire assembly, as you indicated in the schematic, and that it would cost an additional $200. Being the frugal person that I am (frugal, not cheap ) I'm trying to see if I can find two extra bushings collecting dust in someone's parts room.

Try searching 48674-40051

The strut bar did not change from 95 to 2000 but the bushing part number changed slightly.

I dont understand your dilemma, in 2010 I bought 2 cushions for 85$ or so, and now 8 years later you can get them for 200$ and not have to do all the work of pressing them out and in and being sure to "CLOCK" them correctly.. that is 115.$ of GOOD work to me... I wonder what they would cost now if you could find them... surely not 85$...

I think I might have found the bushings for $89 for two of them. I have a friend who owns a machine shop who said he'd press them in for me. The 2 strut bar assemblies would cost ~$250 total. $250 - $89 = $161 savings. Not sure how to "clock" them. Can you give me guidance on how to do that?

Thank you!

The tab, as seen in Billys pic, points downward. The attached svc manual files show details.
Also IIRC you wait until the car is down on the ground before torquing the bolt that goes through the bushing. I'm sure someone else will chime in to confirm...

Yes, the YELLOW dots in my photos point DOWN (6, o'clock) and like Bradland said, just snug them up until the full weight of the car is on them (we put a jack under the wheel and jacked it up until wheel was JUST off the stand)... then torqued them
