Vapor pressure sensor 1995 calif.
heya guys,
My mother overfilled her gas tank (and consequently charcoal canister) on her 1995 Calif. ls400. I ordered a 95-97 canister which came with the sensors attached, when I accessed the charcoal canister in the LH front fender it didn’t have any of the sensors mounted on it the way the replacement had.
I hooked up the new cannister without the sensors (old one definitely had gas smell inside). But this didn’t cure the pO450 cel......and I cannot find where the evap presssure sensor on the 1995 is located??? again I’m assuming this may be a California model or early enough 95 model that it isn’t located “on” the charcoal cannister like the replacement 2cnd gen cannister and sensors I found for replacement.
For full disclosure- I’ve already swapped out the Ecu with a newer model 96 and had all the offending leaky caps replaced with Yamaes recommended low esr caps.
So the PO450 with new cannister is still throwing the code and im unable to locate the vapor pressure sensor on this- any ideas??

so I swung by my local Lexus Master Mechanic and posed the question.
it appears that “some” early 95’s were obd1 and not obd2. the charcoal cannister I had which did not have the vapor pressure sensor on it is from an obd1 1995 Lexus .....and therefore my ECU is obd1 vs obd2. so while the 1996 ECU will work in the 1995.....it will throw a code for the pO450.

Hi, Mudbutt
Can you tell me what ecu computer number, if you have error code by P0450 on your engine light on this is mean it not match for ECU computer on your model car
