1990 ls 400 electrical problem

1990 ls 400. Engine dies when climate control activated. Then won't "spark" until climate control OFF button is pressed. But fan does work while engine is not running.

Sounds like a dead AC compressor to me. To remove the serpentine belt is the way to confirm it.
