Default Strut Bar Nut Size-cushion side

I'm looking to find the size of the nut that is on the cushion side of the strut bar-closest to front of car. Part #90179-18014. Thanks

Almost every nut and bolt on a Toyota vehicle, with a few exceptions of course, is a 8, 10, 12, 14, 17, 19, or 21mm.
17mm and 19mm are very common on suspension components.

Thanks for the tip. 17mm was too small so prob 19 or 21mm I'm thinking then. I was trying not to buy a large set for just one socket.

From my notes, having replaced the strut mount bushings on my 1991 a long time ago,
two nuts holding the strut bar = 19mm
3 nuts holding the strut bar cushion = 17mm
main nut threaded onto strut bar = 24mm

And if you don't have a 24mm, but do have a 15/16", that might work, since 15/16" = 23.8 mm

Yeah, I think the nut was 24mm and the caster adjustment bolt was 27mm.

Edit: My car is a 1995 so the above may not be relevant to your first-gen LS, as PureDrifter pointed out.

The suspension nuts for the control arms are a lot bigger than the standard 19/21mm. I remember doing my lower control arms and it was a 24mm to get the main bolt undone.

If you're replacing the strut bars then I have a tip for you: First, mark the alignment discs (at the bushing ends) before you remove the bars. Second, re-install the bar w/ the end that has the 2 studs first then put a 17mm wrench w/ the open end in the middle of the bar so you can turn it. Once lined up, you can put the long bolt though the bushing at the other end. There isn't much clearance on the 2 holes at the bracket where the 2 studs are going in so it's much easier to line up 1 hole than trying to line up 2.

Specifying the year of your LS is important, 1st and second gen both have strut rods but very different designs.

Strut cushion nut size was 24mm on my 1990. Still have some clanging around on the passenger side but the new cushion helped the movement a bit. When I was under the vehicle, I noticed the sway bar stabilizer bushing was looking beat up. I just ordered replacements for both plus links. Hope this is it. The strut bar cushions were cracked but not the cause of my clunk/clang while breaking and turning or minor road abrasions.
