Hello Lexus experts... I just purchased a 2000 LS400 with 217,000 miles. Very cool car. Would like to know if the rear center headrest goes up and down. In the manual, it says it's adjustable. But, mine seems like it's a fixed position. Would be nice to have more visibility out the rear when nobody is riding in the back. My car is the most basic... no seat warmers, no air suspension.

I just looked at mine and you're right that it does not move or look like its designed to move.
I will revisit this after breakfast and report back. BTW, my DOM is 3/2000.

Here's mine. There is about an inch between bottom of headrest and top of center console.
Dang if I (or my 9 year old son) can get this thing to move at all so maybe it's fixed, but that makes no sense since the Owner's Manual shows it all the way down.

Guys. Pull forward from the top and it will ratchet and release and lay back flat. Have you tried this? Behind the console you can pull the material back and see where it dead stops at that point. Not sure it goes up or down from that position.

The rear seat center head restraint does not go up and down - only forward and backward. It's explained in the owners manual.

Much better and thanks.
