i just bought a 1994 ls400 very good shape ..description of problem by the previous owner it just stopped on the freeway one day after hearing a clunk ..now i own a 92 ls400 that runs great my intentions were to swap transmissions .but upon closer inspection it appears to me it could be something less sinister causing the no drive condition in the 94 .as of now it starts right up ..put it into any gear no response at all ..when i turn the vehicle off there is a winding noise any ideas ?im hoping this situation is not as serious as it seems in any event i have the 92 as a donor. id do the swap myself but no lift .and i dont see any solution to doing the swap with out one .when ever i cant do repairs my self the mechanic i go to wants to charge me $800 to do the swap .ill continue to try and find a diagnoses up until i get the money for the mechanic which tax time could be any day now ..any help is appreciated
