Alternator not generating
I've changed the pigtail on my car the battery indicator is off but the alternator still not charging. Is it possible that the to wires going to the ec plug could be crossed? I'm at a loss, I've changed alternators three times!

Did alt on dodge truck, first didnt work.Put on a second.Failure.Like a dummy I went chasing other things,up to installing an external voltage regulator to bypass ECU.Alternator promptly started glowing red with a smoke cloud, luckily neg batt cable I hadnt wrenched down yet and popped it off.
Now Im thinking that was my fault.Nephew told me his story, insisted i take it back to carquest, they gave me another but they couldnt test it.Took it to Autozone to test, was good.Carquest told me they HATE the china rebuilds but there is no other source.
Put it in without my bypass,no problem.Still good after sending truck to live with nephew.
Did starter on jeep, didnt even play the game, bought a new one, made in china, was nothing else to buy,but at least it worked.
Point of story, china rebuilds are a freakin joke!Make them test it FIRST before you even leave the store.
