my car died on me today, I gave it a boost and it just died and again, how hard is it to change the alternator in a 91 LS 400....

 

Make sure it's the alternator that's gone bad and not the battery before you try to change out the alternator on your own because it will be a PITA if you've never done it before. Plus, it's a lot easier and cheaper to change the battery (if that's the case) than the alternator.
