Thanks for all the welcomes folks.

I forgot to mention I replaced the original oem NGK IFR6A11 iridium spark plugs with Denso 5k20R11 plugs, when pulled they were clean but coated light black.
I wasn't concerned as I felt this retired couple probably drove conservatively with a light foot and that it was time for a coolant temp sensor. I'll post a car pic. later.
