Default Timing belt and water pump replacement?

My 1993 LS400 is right at 160K and just started leaking radiator fluid and sounds like the water pump broke. It also has been leaking oil from the valve cover gaskets. Should I perform the recommended Lexus 160K replacement maintenance cycle for timing belt/gear at the same time. I know this sounds like a redundant question, but it also doubles the cost. How long does the timing belt/gear actually last? It was last replaced at 80K in 2007. Thx, K.

Lexus' maintenance interval for the timing belt/water pump is every 90k miles, or 6 years (depending on which comes first), and since your last one was at 80k, in 2007, that sounds about right. THIS (Aisin TKT-030) is the correct/OEM kit for your model year. I would advise that you purchase this kit specifically, as some aftermarket versions have been observed to prematurely fail. While it's not a death sentence to the UCF10 like it is on future models, it's still a very intensive service, and not one you would want to repeat for another 90k miles/6 years.
