"CHECK VSC" light & struggles to start
I have a gorgeous '99 LS400 and the other day, I went to start it after it had sat for 5 days or so...and it struggled to start. After a few seconds, it started up, and ran fine....but as I pulled outside, the CHECK VSC light came on the display and the VSC OFF light illuminated as well.
The car runs and sounds fine, it's just those pesky lights....
When I drive it, park it, then start it back up 5-10 minutes later...it doesn't struggle to start, turns over just fine. But if I leave it parked for several hours, then try to start it, the same slow "churning" happens...and it struggles to get started.
I have done some research and most of it points to a dying/weak battery. I cannot find the date listed on it anywhere, but it says 6-year life on it.
So I turn to you folks --- battery issue? Starter issue? Some other more expensive issue that I don't want to think about?
Thanks for any help, ideas and suggestions!
Alex
