Ls400 obd2 but not obd2 ?
Ok guys i have had this damn check engine light on for 6 months now and i have had 5 diff places try to read it and all the scanners never come up with anything.just says n/a i got alot of people scratching there heads.
There is nothing on here how to read 1995 ls400 codes.
I dont know how many of you know that 1995 is obd2 and same time its not. Some lexus mechanic told me its obd 1 1/2
I have the obd 2 plug under neath but what the hell is it there for if u cant use any scanner to read it.. iv searched here and asked around but all answrs are for 90-94 lexus and 96-and so on. No defant answer. Surly someone has had this problem and Not just me. I almost took it to lexus but said they were goin to charge me almost 200.just to read my code. I asked joking does that come with a gold coin? Well.any ways someone plz tell me how to read my check engine code Thnx.

There are early MY '95's that run the OBD-1 type interface where you have to count the blinks of the flashing light. genmaxpain's describes the procedure
Just to add about if not seen yet, the ripple test in this thread:

I am quite positive, from all my forum digging and reading, that if your car indeed has an OBDII port, and not an OBD1 port like in the video above, it is wired and designed for OBDII. Not being able to read the codes with any scanner is a huge sign of a dying ECU. Have you tried using a bluetooth OBDII dongle and the Torque App on your phone to see if the car will communicate basic engine vitals like RPM, coolant temp, etc?
