Small clunk while Idle.
Hi guys. I have a 91 celsior with 60k miles.
I have noticed that while sitting in D or R from time to time it will make a slight clunk nd the revs will drop ever so slightly , like maybe 20rpm, for just the second that the clunk occurs.
I have only noticed it over the last few days, however it was recently serviced with the correct toyota fluid which was quite expensive from the local dealership.
Any ideas?

I had the same issue on my 97. Check the below
*Flexible Driveshaft Coupling AKA Guibo bushings 37511-50040 (part number for my year, not sure about yours)
*center support and bearing aka carrier bearing
*Transmission mount
*differential mount
my car was making the clunk and eating through driveshaft bushing like crazy. I finally found the issue, it was that my differential was missing a bushing where the bolt that holds the differential up at.

Cheers for the pointers mate. Ill jump under it and have a look today. Im hesitant to spend any money on the auto at the moment as its getting a 5 speed swap in 6 weeks so hopefully it will be a cheap fix this time.

You should not feel ANYTHING when starting the car, unlike in normal, non-luxury cars. These mounts are hydraulically filled and dampen and isolate all the vibrations of the engine movement when cranking and starting up. I was pretty amazed, thinking it was good before, but when I replaced them, I felt absolutely nothing, I had to look at the tach in order to know that the car was on with the engine running.
My old mounts were not exactly ripped apart, but were tearing and sagging, putting the engine out of alignment with the driveshaft going to the rear end.

I will start the process of replacing all rubber mounts, bushings and dampers. Do you guys know a good international seller of parts for these cars? I find many online but very few that have parts in stock or ship to aus
