Even though some features like traction control are commonplace today, owning a lower optioned LS is not an issue in my book - there is less that can go wrong. My car is even more base, only having the Lexus carpets and mudguards options equipped.
I can understand how you feel about the car's size and safety features; advances have definitely been made in the past 30 years, but as you said, definitely don't give it away. Good luck with whatever decision you make, and enjoy your LS if you decide to keep it longer.

I definitely agree with you there, dicer. For a daily driver though, which is the only practical choice for me at the moment, I am happy with an example that I can keep in as good condition as possible and still drive every day. The only things that really bother me on any car are peeling paint and neglected maintenance.
I hope to own a museum quality LS 400 and do exactly as you said. I am very tired of rocks from trucks and other vehicles, too.
