Default Reset CEL or let it reset itself?

After changing out an air fuel sensor I read that the CEL will go out by itself after driving around for a while.
Is there an advantage in resetting the CEL (EFI fuse or battery disconnect) yourself? If so, is there an advantage in resetting even before starting the work.

The advantage of resetting it is the code wont be stored anymore so if the light lights up again that code wont be there, just the new code.

Technically speaking, the battery should be disconnected (negative cable) whenever you are working on the car.
