Different EGR pipe help
All besides one thread I found describe the EGR pipe as a single pipe. After mine cracked and made my car sound like a boat i decided to just get a delete kit however mine seems different than most.
This is the only picture I can find that resembles my 1UZ
see how it meets on some type of block in the back side of the bay? Does anyone know if I need to block that off as well or if it is okay open?
The lower EGR pipe bolts were the consistency of warm butter when I put a wrench on. I'm thinking just cut and weld since they are pretty rounded now but if i have to block the upward pipe it may change where I cut.
Also I lost a socket and universal somewhere behind the top pipe (kill me now)

What egr is ------->Exhaust Gas Recirculation, that means it puts exhaust gas back into the intake. So if the hole in the top is left open you have a huge intake leak.
And if you leave the bottom one open you would have a huge exhaust leak, and that is what you are trying to get rid of. So BOTH have to be blocked.
If the bolts are rounded off you likely have a nice mess to deal with, and maybe an engine removal job to fix it.

Did you even read?
my EGR is two pipes like the picture with four mounting points.

I see 2 flanged ends on the pipe. One at the top and one at the bottom, I can't tell for sure what the bottom one is connected to the picture won't enlarge either.
Sure I read it, what did I miss? If the block you say is some sort of exhaust crossover that it bolts to, yes it needs to be plugged as well. If it is something that can be removed without messing something up then the ports for it need to be blocked else all the noise and exhaust will come out there. Pretty simple stuff.
If you can't access any of it with engine in car then it may need to come out, especially if the bolts or fasteners are messed up.
