So are there two FPRs? I know there is one on the front passenger side fuel rail. There is also a dampner on the driver's side rail.

I used to live in Lake Tahoe 20 years ago... I miss it.

I checked again (had previously referenced a convenient soft copy of a newer manual) on my hard copy service manual for my 1991 ... unlike later years where the fuel pressure regulator is in the tank (as I said earlier), for 1991 (and probably your car too?) the fuel pressure regulator is on top of the engine, on the right side, a little in front of the throttle body (page FI-29). And then the pulsation damper is a little left of center, and rearward, on top of the engine (page FI-43).

Sounds like you've already got it figured out. Sorry if I was confusing things.

From looking at the manual more carefully now, I see you are completely on top of things with your readings there. Yes, idling spec is 28-34 psi, and your 41 may be causing problems.

I've been going up to South Lake Tahoe now for over 20 years, always wishing I could be there more.

So, after replacing the Coolant Temp Sensor, Coil (Primary resistance still high on the new one I got from Rockauto), and a new Fuel Pressure Regulator she is now idling very smoothly and like I have never seen it before. I am going to guess that the Sensor is playing the biggest factor since it looked considerably corroded when I pulled it. I am extremely excited going for a test drive now. Hoping to have no hesitation and full power.
