Idling issues. Anyone else?
When in Drive and at a complete stop, my car will idle at 500rpms. Other days it idles at 750 rpms like normal. My tech cleaned my throttle body for carbon build up and still at times it will idle at 500rpms. Today I took the car out for 25 miles for a round of golf and the whole time at every stop light, on the way there, it would idle at 500rpms and could feel my car shake a tad bit due to the low idle. After the round of golf and heading on my way home, the idle was fine at 750rpms at every stop light. I know if I take to Lexus they'll give me some B.S., they could duplicate the problem. Anyone else experience this?
btw, lexus says my ticking noise at idle is normal and my water pump is seeping. not leaking.

Please someone chime in if I'm wrong but I think this has been deemed normal? Many owners have experienced this, including myself, where there are time the idle will drop to 500 rpm and be a bit rough. I googled it when it happened to me when i got my '12 brand new last year and was doing it and found many owners reporting it and it being considered normal.

This is normal. When you turn you A/C on the car bumps up to ~700-750 Rpm, because it is running the compressor. When you turn the A/C off since the compressor is not being run it will settle down to 500 rpm. It did it on my RX350 before I got the F
On my 09 ISF, 500 r ppm idle when AC off. 750 rpm idle when AC on.
At 500 rpm, I have a few occasions when I can feel slightly more vibrations. Most of the. Time is fine.
Try disconnecting your battery terminal for a few minutes to rest the ecu. See if that helps.

This is normal. Next time when this happens try turning on either your air-con, or even just turning your headlights on to 1 notch (park lights) and it will jump back up to 750 RPM's.
Basically turning on any sort of accessory will bump it back up to 750 RPM's. Maybe Lexus did this as a fuel saving feature whilst stopped at the lights
?

I experience the same issue. Had dealer hook up the computer and they found no issues. They did tell me my knock value was off and to make sure I used 93 and quality gas. I use 93 and QT gas which is on the list for top tier gasoline. I don't know what to say about that.
My 2013 does the same thing. Purchased brand new and I noticed it during my test drive. I didn't think it was an issue as it still idles smoothly, with no noticeable vibrations at 500rpm.

+1. This idle is normal. My car ticks occasionally and sometimes idles at 500 rpm's. If you turn your lights on it idles a little higher around 750 rpm's. I think it's a Toyota thing, my mom's Camry does the same thing.
I don't know why people get paranoid with the ticking noise. Yamaha did pair up with Toyota to design our engines. On my end there are no performance issues, car is running strong.
