Default 1998 random no start

First issue I've experienced owning it since 15k miles ago. Jumped in this morning and crank crank crank. Paused, then let it crank for 10 seconds straight and still nothing. Turned ignition off then back on and it fires right up. Hasn't happened since...Immobilizer acting up or ??

Do you live near any RF sources? Airports, Radar installations?

Clear of all that kind of stuff. Very strange it only happened once.

Fortunately it has not happened since.... just that one time :/. I'm going to sweep this under the rug for the time being.

Sweep it under the rug?

While Toyota products are reliable they do fail... Now you know you have an intermittent problem and are stating you are not going to address it....

Perhaps better to keep this to yourself so others do not reason along.

Should the engine fails while making a turn in a busy intersection hopefully you have a will.

Electronic based components tend to simply fail catastrophically, while electromechanical devices such as relays, motors (fuel pump), starters will give intermittent function before complete failure.

So it is a strong possibility with age and over 100,000 miles you have a weak fuel pump and, or fuel pump relay culminating in random starting...

While you are at it, check the condition of the fuel pump resistor , battery terminals and all negative grounds.

Sounds like fuel delivery problem. B4 starting, pump gas pedal few times to see what happens.

Didn't mean to imply ignorance on the topic, but with it happening exactly once, it's kindof hard to troubleshoot .I've driven it a couple dozen times since w/no issues. I'll definately double check the grounds and resistor though. battery terminals and visible ground points are 100% clean, I'm extrememly OCD about corrostion.
