If you really follow the car they've stated they are unsure if the engine is the original as they can not find any codes on it to link to the VIN. Also the car had 1 dedicated owner for very many years(and miles) of its life before it was sold and then passed to 3-4 different owners before reaching Matt. Most people would of sold the car on well before that point and with each new owner the quality of care would dip more and more until the car was in disarray and destroyed or sent to Africa.

So more accurately, statically people dont stay with their cars long enough to reach such miles. Your examples and reasoning are questionable at best as there was recently a story about a 2007 Toyota Tundra reaching the same miles, pretty hard miles too as it was a work truck for an oil company, with nothing but regular maintenance done.

Not a Lexus but over 3 million miles on this one owner Volvo.
Don't see people holding on for that long, that's for sure.
