That's the brake pad wear indicator light. More about it here. Your owners manual will also tell you what all of the lights mean.

I'm assuming you have a 1995+ LS. Please let us know the year in your post, or put it in your profile.

EDIT: Noticed the year at the very bottom. Thanks, Ls400dan

Okay thank you! I though it was going to be something worse. I'll go ahead and change my brake pads. Also, I did put the cars year in the description. It is a 1994 ls 400.

You will need to replace or repair the brake pad wear sensor if you want the warning light to go off. I'm not sure about your 1994 LS400 but the 2000 LS400 that I used to have had a brake pad wear sensor on one of the front wheels and one on one of the rear wheels.

IIRC, 1993 was the first model year that the LS400 got brake pad wear sensors.

I just repaired this on my mother's Ls430... it takes two sensors only, front/rear on the passenger side only. Picked up the sensors for $10 of ebay and were plug and play replacements.

Thanks Billy... she'd like me to live closer as I only get over there about once every 2 months due to work complications.
Headed over this weekend for wash and wax... always more to do.
