1991 LS400 Radio not working
Hello all,
I just picked up my UCF10 and my nakamichi radio is not working. Yes I have searched and looked at multiple pages on the issue but I have some differences.
On my car I can turn on the radio and you can hear a pop from the sub and speakers. I get this same thing when I change from am to fm or any of the presets. But when I turn of the volume I get nothing. If I leave the radio on I start getting a wahhhwahhh sound after a few minutes. I have disconnected the factory phone system in the trunk. Any ideas what it could be? And is the amp for the speakers built into the radio?

I've read that the amp for the nakamichi powers all the speakers, on the pioneer the head unit powers the speakers except for the amp in the trunk for the sub woofer.
I found a write up about how the FET's go bad in the amplifier and it of course won't work, its a matter of replacing them and all is supposed to be good then. But of course with anything electronic it could also be something else too. I would think that just like the ecu that the LS sound system could suffer from the bad capacitor syndrome too.
