1996 LS timing belt job
I did some searching but couldn't find what I was looking for. I have to do a water pump/timing belt 96 LS all parts are on the way OEM lexus parts 16-18 parts total I am seeing if anyone has a link or good way to find on this forum. I have found a 1990-1994 play by play guide but not 96 or is 90-94 the same for 96 engine wise, thanks in advance

This is probably the most common. --->http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/engine/timingbelt.html
I use the factory manual which is a slightly different technique. It has your setup the crank and cams to further prevent any valve interference if you move things around during the job. If you don't go crazy with that way listed in that tutorial you'll be fine. Where did you order all of the OEM parts from. I used the Aisin kit from RockAuto for $175 which included parts from the OE without the Toyota box. Included was a bonded gasket for the water pump so I didn't use the sealant like shown in the tutorial. The crank bolt is torqued to 181 ft/lb so it's really tight. You'll want to either have the special crankshaft holding tool to torque the bolt down or lock the crank at the flywheel.
