Default bonnet, bootlid??!!

hey guys, I'm reading this book on Lexus, and it says "Precise computrized measuring and welding systems ensured that gaps between the bonnet and the wings, and the bootllid adn the wings were actually non-parallel." Where is the bonnet, bootlid and wings? is he referring to the fenders? I'm lost...

The person who wrote that is probably British. For the Brits, bonnet means the hood and bootlid is the trunk lid.

yes, I know that he's from Australia. So that must be it then. How about "wings"? My guess is that he must mean fenders by "wings." Anyone knows for sure?

What? Your lex did not come with a wing option? You need a long highway or a runway at an airport to use them though!

I say chaps,

Don't you jolly well know that wings are the panels to the front and rear of the doors old boy.

Those fenders that you refer to are called the bumpers and are the bits that stick out front and rear and allow you to ram other lesser mortals with minimum damage to your own carriage !

I do hope this clears up any confusion on your side of the pond.

Toddle pip.
